Dr Imran Ashraf

My Experience

I am Dr. Imran Ashraf, a Consultant Physician in General, Geriatric, and Stroke Medicine at Darent Valley Hospital, Dartford, where I have been practicing since 2012. I completed my MRCP in 2005 and pursued Specialist Registrar training in General, Geriatric, and Stroke Medicine within the Kent and Sussex Deanery, gaining extensive experience in managing complex medical conditions in elderly patients and stroke care. Over the years, I have developed a strong commitment to high-quality patient care, ensuring my clinical practice remains evidence-based and aligned with best practices in the field.

Alongside my clinical responsibilities, I have been an appraiser since 2017, conducting over 600 appraisals to date. In 2023, I was appointed Lead Appraiser at Darent Valley Hospital, further strengthening my role in supporting doctors through the appraisal and revalidation process. I am well-versed in GMC and NHS England guidelines, ensuring that all appraisals adhere to regulatory standards. I take great pride in fostering a supportive and constructive appraisal environment, helping doctors reflect on their practice, enhance their professional development, and maintain high standards of patient care. Known for my strong communication skills, I always strive to provide fair, objective, and thorough assessments, enabling my appraisees to approach their careers with confidence and clarity.
