My Experience
I have been working as a consultant nephrologist at the University Hospitals Birmingham (UHB), Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, Sandwell and West Birmingham Health Trust, and Midland Metropolitan University Hospital for 20 years. Also, I am leading the SWBH renal services. I completed my training in general medicine, nephrology and transplantation as well as MD research at the North West Deanery.
During my work, I was significantly involved in the clinical and educational supervision of junior doctors and junior consultants. I also regularly teach medical students. Moreover, I supervised nurses and pharmacists for higher degrees and prescriber courses. I work alongside many different specialties including general medicine, cardiology, diabetes and endocrinology. In addition, I delivered teachings to primary care about the diagnosis and management of Chronic Kidney Disease.
I am the MRCP PACES examiner and chair both nationally and internationally.
I am an experienced appraiser and have been doing that for a long time at the UHB and other agencies. I am also nominated mentor by the RCP.
