SELF INJECTING FILLERS – (HOW CAN THAT BE A GOOD IDEA?)
A national newspaper in the UK has called for “deadly” You Tube videos which show you how to self-inject Botox and fillers to be taken down.
Under the headline: ‘Dangerous’ YouTube videos that show you how to inject fillers and Botox into your own face branded ‘deadly’ by doctors, the Sun reports that some videos have more than 30,000 views and are branded potentially lethal by medics.
How can self-injecting anything into your face be considered sensible?
In the UK dermal fillers are not yet a prescription only medicine so in theory you could buy some and inject yourself quite legally.
But that is likely to change as moves to make fillers only available on prescription gather pace.
Cosmetic fillers should only be performed by an experienced and qualified practitioner with a detailed understanding of both facial anatomy and the management of potential complications.
